How long have you been in business?
The owner has been in the construction business since 1997. In 1997 the company was called Olde World Stone Company. Then in 2009, 906 Improvements LLC was formed. The name change was needed because over the last 8 years the scope of work for Olde World Stone Company had evolved. Although the company still offered topnotch Stone Masonry, the company tackled projects that covered other trades such as Carpentry, Landscaping, Maintenance, Painting, Outdoor Living, Play set construction, and Irrigation to name a few. Thus in 2009 a new name was given to better describe the services offered.
What is your primary product or service?
906 Improvements has the craftsmen to complete any home improvement or landscape renovation. The company specializes in unique projects in residential trade-work and adapts to meet the needs of each one, large or small. 906’s wide variety of staff skills, allows them to maintain a high level of quality. From the inception through the final installation, the owner / worker, designer, carpenter, mason, and painter will provide you with the best possible outcome for the project.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Jason Gibson (owner) got his start in construction in while on breaks from college from 1992-1996. He worked alongside electricians, plumbers, tree climbers, landscapers, carpenters and masons. After hurricane Fran hit Raleigh, NC in 1996; Jason picked up his own side work repairing houses, clearing trees and doing landscape renovations. The side work turned into full time work and word of mouth plus signs n the yard, kept him busy. Jason settled with Masonry and specialized in stone setting. He enjoyed the attention to detail and artistry in the craft. Jason then organized and formed Olde World Stone Company. Throughout the years people called Jason back to complete projects other then masonry. After years of working a variety of residential trade-work he changed the name of the company to reflect the change in the business focus.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Some items that differentiate 906 Improvements from other businesses is they employ LOCAL craftsmen that are a part of the community. The owner is on the job from start to finish, he not only bids the job he works on the project till it is completed. 906's interior designer specializes in feng shui design. 906 craftsmen are experienced in many trades so the job runs smoothly and ends on schedule.
